Saturday 4th XI (Croziers) Season Review 2015

Led again by batsman Kesta Henry, the Croziers finished in a respectable fifth place in Division Two 2nd XI of the WCL, whilst falling just short of the previous season's fourth place and 2013's promotion near-miss. In 2015 we won nine games and lost seven, finishing with 265 points, 20 fewer than Bromyard. Pershore were the runaway champions and Coombs Wood runners-up.

Unfortunately, an excellent start to the season was not maintained. Several promising young players are predicted to make much progress next year. Losing the experienced seam bowler Jon Ward half-way through the season, combined with injuries and selection problems, affected progress. Nevertheless, the experienced Jim Clifford hit 581 runs, averaging 41.5, with a top score of 106; and two bowlers featured in the divisional averages. Vishal Tewari again bowled well to capture 23 wickets at 15.3, once claiming 4-48; and Zak Sinkinson took 17 at 36.3, with a best haul of 3-64.

Kesta was pleased with the effort and attitude of his team, but work commitments will preclude captaining next season.
