Sunday 3rd XI (Knots) Season Review 2015

Led by David Williams, the side finished 2015 as runners-up to Berkswell in our first season in Division Two of the Arden Sunday League. We won five games, lost one, had three adandoned, and enjoyed various types of draw, with 18 batting and 15 bowling points. Our total of 196 points was 11 fewer than champions Berkswell.

In May we won at Berkswell (where the league administrator, Pete Wreford, a former Harborne batsman plays) by six wickets. Alistair Lyttle (89) and young batsman Ben Langdell (77) featured in a winning draw against Weoley Hill. Sam Durnigan (90), Jimmy Clifford (a century) and Suki Bharaj (5-25) contributed to another winning draw at Warwick.

We won by 70 runs at Corley, where Saraj Kumar (70), Simon Blackledge (40) and young seam bowler Oscar Lyttle (4-20) were all prominent. A victory at Weoley Hill by nine wickets in July owed much to Junayd Iqbal's 3-39 and an opening stand of 90 between Blackledge and Jon Robinson.

And an eight wicket victory at Meriden against Spartans was a result of Archie Clay's unbeaten century and Deepak Chamania's 69 when we successfully chased 239-6.
