Harborne Cricket Club (HCC) was founded in 1868 and is one of the leading clubs in the Midlands. We are proud to have a thriving youth section and we provide a comprehensive programme of cricket coaching and matches for our youth members.

For children in Reception to Year 2 HCC runs an All-Stars Cricket (Official England Cricket Board Programme) during the summer. Please visit https://www.ecb.co.uk/play/all-stars to register your interest. The All-Stars programme will be open for general sign up from 19th February 2022.  Places are limited, and all places will be on a first come first serve basis. 

Children in Year 3 through to Year 10 are welcome to join our programme. The HCC Youth Programme typically commences in April, finishes either end of July or early August.  Structured training is scheduled during weekdays throughout the season, whilst competitive and friendly matches are arranged mostly in advance.  All our sessions are managed and run by HCC senior team players and ECB qualified coaches.

Harborne Cricket Club Youth Membership Benefits – 

  • Dedicated training for specific age group with HCC senior team players and ECB qualified coaches.
  • Use of cricket nets outside of scheduled training times for juniors, seniors, and holiday camps.
  • Benefitting from playing the sports and having fun, to learning important life skills, including leadership, teamwork, and resilience, whilst engage socially during their time at HCC and beyond.
  • Nomination to trial for Warwickshire district and county programmes for youth members who are talented and performed during the season.
 

Fixtures & Ethos – 

  • HCC Youth teams take part in various Warwickshire Cricket Board Leagues. Selection for these competitive matches is decided by the lead coach for each age group based on individual readiness, performances during training and in matches.  
  • Friendly games are opened to all youth members on a rotational basis dependent on availability.  Due to popularity and growing number of members, matches opportunities cannot be fully guaranteed. However, we endeavour to give all members an opportunity to represent the club during the season.
  • The coaches, all the managers and administration of the Youth Section are volunteers.  As such, we respectfully request that they are treated in the ‘spirit of cricket’.

Year 3 & 4 Tuesday    6.30pm – 7.30pm

Year 5 & 6  Friday        5.00pm – 6.15pm

Year 7 & 8  Friday        6.30pm – 8.00pm

Year 9 & 10  Monday  6.00pm – 8.00pm

Equipment List:

For all age groups players will be required to wear an official Harborne Cricket Club Jersey. 

Year 3 & 4

Soft Ball

Cricket equipment is provided.  However, you are welcome to bring your own bat.

Year 5 and Above

Hard Ball

You must provide your own equipment (inc. bat, gloves, pads, helmet, abdominal protector, and cricket ball*)

*Please note: 

Year 5 – Year 8: Junior Ball 

Year 9 & above: Senior Ball
